Street Banner Application

  1. It is the policy of the City of East Wenatchee that street banners are not a forum for free expression by the public. Rather, street banners may only be displayed as an expression of the City’s own sentiments. As such, only street banners reflecting City-endorsed programs, policies, or causes may be authorized and displayed.

    Applications received will be evaluated and preapproved or denied by the Mayor from November 2nd - November 30th. Any application denied by the Mayor will be shared with the City Council at the next scheduled workshop meeting. 

    Applications preapproved by the Mayor will be evaluated for final approval by the City Council at the first regularly scheduled Council Meeting in December. Applicants shall be notified by December 15th of the final decision. 

  2. Description of the subject, event, holiday, etc., expressed by the banner.

  3. Banner Delivery/Pickup Requirements

    Banners must be delivered to the City Clerk's Office one week prior to the approved display start date. Banners will be installed and uninstalled by the City. Banners must be picked up within 10 days after the approved display end date. Banners not picked up may be disposed of by the City on the 11th day.

  4. Indemnify and Hold Harmless

    The undersigned represents that they are authorized to act on behalf of the Organization for which this permit is requested, and on behalf of the Organization, the Organization agrees that the sponsor shall indemnify and hold harmless the City, its officers and employees from any and all claims, losses, damages, damage to banners, demands, suits, and attorney fees of any kind on account of injury to person and property arising out of or in connection for which this permit application is submitted.

    The applicant represents that they are aware of the terms and conditions of receiving a permit and will follow applicable laws.

  5. Electronic Signature Agreement*

    By checking the "I agree" box below, you agree and acknowledge that 1) your application will not be signed in the sense of a traditional paper document, 2) by signing in this alternate manner, you authorize your electronic signature to be valid and binding upon you to the same force and effect as a handwritten signature, and 3) you may still be required to provide a traditional signature at a later date.
